DEMOCRAT ECONOMICS PROFESSOR AT QUINNIPIAC SAYS:

Sex, Love & Money

Two women talking…..
-Tell me, what is sex?
- Sex is when you dress up, go to a bar flirt with a guy, he buys you drinks.
You go to bed and he leaves some money on your table.
- And what is good sex?
- Good sex is when you dress up, go to a bar flirt with a guy, he buys you drinks.
You go to bed, you actually enjoy it, and he leaves lots of money on your table.
- And what is love?
- Love? That's a Jewish invention to avoid leaving money on the table.

JUST THE FACTS  MA'AM!

A study by Mark Gius, an Democrat economist at Quinnipiac University, shows states with restrictive concealed weapons laws had higher gun-related murder rates, and that assault weapons bans had no real impact on murder rates at the state level.

"These results suggest that restrictive concealed weapons laws may cause an increase in gun-related murders at the state level," Gius wrote in his summary.

Results that will not be well received by gun control advocates.

The study, published in "Applied Economics Letters," set out to "determine the effects of state-level assault weapons bans and concealed weapons laws on state murder rates."

Gius further summarized:

Using data for the period 1980 to 2009 and controlling for state and year fixed effects, the results of the present study suggest that states with restrictions on the carrying of concealed weapons had higher gun-related murder rates than other states. It was also found that assault weapons bans did not significantly affect murder rates at the state level.

"Specifically, the study shows that less restrictive concealed carry laws save lives, while gun control can endanger them," AWR Hawkins wrote in a review for Breitbart News.

In response to critics, who claim that study's abstract is insufficient to draw accurate conclusions, Hawkins pointed out that Breitbart News obtained the entire study, adding that "the more we read the more support we found for Gius' claims."

Hawkins is a military historian who holds a Ph.D. from Texas Tech University

US-Brokered Deal 'Just the First Stage' in Israel's Demise

Senior member of Mahmoud Abbas' party reiterates his organization's stance: destroy Israel 'in stages'.

By Ari Soffer

As US-brokered talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) continue, amid pressure for further territorial concessions by Israel, a senior Palestinian Authority official has told Syrian TV that any agreement will simply be the "first stage" in eradicating Israel altogether.

Abbas Zaki posted a clip of the interview - which was promptly translated and circulated by Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) - onto his Facebook page.

In response to concern expressed by the interviewer that any US-imposed deal would be "deficient", insofar as it would "only" require Israel to cede Judea and Samaria, a smiling Zaki urges calm.

"You can relax. We find ourselves united for the first time. Even the most extreme among us, Hamas, or the fighting forces, want a state within the '67 borders [sic]. Afterward, we [will] have something to say, because the inspiring idea cannot be achieved all at once. [Rather] in stages," he responded.

Zaki is a senior member of the central committee of Fatah - the Arab nationalist party which dominates the PA, and is headed by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

The strategy to eradicate the Jewish state "in stages" via a combination of terrorism and diplomacy, as opposed to in a single military conquest, has been voiced by many PA officials in the past, who note that Israel cannot be destroyed in one fell swoop.

Palestinian Media Watch has exposed a string of such statements by senior officials in the past, casting serious doubt over the viability of the Obama administration's recent attempt to impose a solution to the conflict.

Earlier this year, in a speech attended by Mahmoud Abbas, the PA's Religious Affairs Minister explained that any treaties with Israel should be viewed as another "Treaty of Hudaybiyyah" - a reference to a "temporary" deal signed by Islam's founder Muhammed, which was promptly broken as soon as the Muslim armies were strong enough to achieve victory.

In another interview in 2011, Zaki was even more explicit:

"While the agreement is on the borders of June 4, the President [Mahmoud Abbas] understands, we understand, and everyone knows that it is impossible to realize the inspiring idea, or the great goal in one stroke," he explained to Al Jazeera.

However, he continued, an agreement which would see the destruction and ethnic-cleansing of Jewish

communities in Judea and Samaria would itself prove strategically fatal for the Jewish state in the long-run.

"If Israel withdraws from Jerusalem, if Israel uproots the settlements, 650,000 settlers, if Israel removes the (security) fence - what will be with Israel? Israel will come to an end.

"If I say that I want to remove it from existence, this will be great, great, [but] it is hard. This is not a [stated] policy. You can't say it to the world. You can say it to yourself."

GOT IT? Do you still want Israel to remove its security fence?
Do you still think the security fence, keeping the Israeli "terrorists" inside Israel is a bad idea; and keeping all those gentle peace lovers with the bomb belts out a bad one?

If you do, on what grounds?

CNN'S MEA CULPA FOR MSNBC

What the wingnut liberals on Reliable Sources said about MSNBC:

MSNBC was:

Demonizing the Republicans
Smug and Condescending
Beyond the Pale
Just bad TV
Junk
Out of touch with reality
Insensitive
Totally partisan
Lacking objectivity

No comparison to FOX News they said - not the opposite of FOX as they often said before to justify MSNBC's idiocracy - simply a different breed.

MSNBC is the joke network, not a news network. It has had the lowest ratings even with GE and Microsoft funding for over a decade. The last time CNN has been number one was in 2001. MSNBC never came close to being Number 2 - they are losers - a monumental failure as are the people who watch it. Moreover:

These comments came from a bunch of leftwing Democrats on a panel - all agreed with each other, it's that obvious! They also know that Benghazigate is a serious issue. Yet, they continue the canard that the media does not have a liberal bias - in the light that 93% of the media participants polled admit to a liberal bias and 68% of that group admitted to having REPEATEDLY financed the political campaigns of liberal politicians. How many of the 93% feared admitting to political contributions do you think?

The CNN panel of ultraliberals insisted that MSNBC's hosts are "well-educated."

AL, SERIOUSLY!

Implying I guess that the two Pulitzer Prize winners on FOX, Charles Krauthammer and George Will are functional idiots?

Meanwhile to date CNN has failed to apologize for or inform it's viewers of the facts behind its throwing a presidential election the current incumbent was clearly losing. CNN was campaigning for the incumbent DURING the process leading up to the election and even on election eve! Why is that so? Because...

Inside every liberal is a tyrant clamoring to get out.

FROM MONTEREY CALIFORNIA

Circulating the net these days.....

What ObamaCare is Really About

I'm a 54 year old consulting engineer (working in CA) and make between $60,000 and $125,000 per year, depending on how hard I work and whether or not there are work projects out there for me.

My girlfriend is 61 and makes about $18,000 per year, working as a part-time mail clerk.

For me, making $60,000 a year, under ObamaCare, the cheapest, lowest grade policy I can buy, which also happens to impose a $5,000 deductible, costs $482 per month.

For my girlfriend, the same exact policy, same deductible, costs $1 per month. That's right, $1 per month. I'm not making this up.

Don't believe me? Just go to www.coveredca.gov , the ObamaCare website for California and enter the parameters I've mentioned above and see for yourself. By the way, my zip code is 93940. You'll need to enter that.

So OK, clearly ObamaCare is a scheme that involves putting the cost burden of healthcare onto the middle and upper-income wage earners. But there's a lot more to it. Stick with me.

And before I make my next points, I'd like you to think about something:

I live in Monterey County, in Central California. We have a large land mass but just 426,000 residents - about the population of Colorado Springs or the city of Omaha.

But we do have a large Hispanic population, including a large number of illegal aliens, and to serve this group we have Natividad Medical Center, a massive, Federally subsidized county medical complex that takes up an area about one-third the size of the Chrysler Corporation automobile assembly plant in Belvedere, Illinois (see Google Earth View). Natividad has state-of-the-art operating rooms, Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging, fully equipped, 24 hour emergency room, and much more. If you have no insurance, if you've been in a drive-by shooting or have overdosed on crack cocaine, this is where you go. And it's essentially free, because almost everyone who ends up in the ER is uninsured.

Last year, 2,735 babies were born at Natividad. 32% of these were born to out-of-wedlock teenage mothers, 93% of which were Hispanic. Less than 20% could demonstrate proof of citizenship, and 71% listed their native language as Spanish. Of these 876 births, only 40 were covered under [any kind of] private health insurance. The taxpayers paid for the other 836. And in case you were wondering about the entire population - all 2,735 births - less than 24% involved insured coverage or even partial payment on behalf of the patient to the hospital in exchange for services. Keep this in mind as we move forward.

Now consider this:

If I want to upgrade my policy to a low-deductible premium policy, such as what I had with my last employer, my cost is $886 per month. But my girlfriend can upgrade her policy to the very same level, for just $4 per month. That's right, $4 per month. $48 per year for a zero-deductible, premium healthcare policy - the kind of thing you get when you work at IBM (except of course, IBM employees pay an average of $170 per month out of pocket for their coverage).

I mean, it's bad enough that I will be forced to subsidize the ObamaCare scheme in the first place. But even if I agreed with the basic scheme, which of course I do not, I would never agree to subsidize premium policies. If I have to pay $482 a month for a budget policy, I sure as hell do not want the guy I'm subsidizing to get a better policy, for less that 1% of what I have to fork out each month for a low-end policy.

Why must I pay $482 per month for something the other guy gets for a dollar? And why should the other guy get to buy an $886 policy for $4 a month? Think about this: I have to pay $10,632 a year for the same thing that the other guy can get for $48. $10,000 of net income is 60 days of full time work as an engineer. $48 is something I could could pay for collecting aluminum cans and plastic bottles, one day a month.

Are you with me on this? Are you starting to get an idea what ObamaCare is really about?

ObamaCare is not about dealing with inequities in the healthcare system. That's just the cover story. The real story is that it is a massive, political power grab. Do you think anyone who can insure himself with a premium policy for $4 a month will vote for anyone but the political party that provides him such a deal? ObamaCare is about enabling, subsidizing, and expanding the Left's political power base, at taxpayer expense. Why would I vote for anyone but a Democrat if I can have babies for $4 a month? For that matter, why would I go to college or strive for a better job or income if it means I have to pay real money for healthcare coverage? Heck, why study engineering when I can be a schlub for $20K per year and buy a new F-150 with all the money I'm saving?

And think about those $4-a-month babies - think in terms of propagation models. Think of just how many babies will be born to irresponsible, under-educated mothers. Will we get a new crop of brain surgeons and particle physicists from the dollar baby club, or will we need more cops, criminal courts and prisons? One thing you can be certain of: At $4 a month, they'll multiply, and multiply, and multiply. And not one of them will vote Republican.

ObamaCare: *It's all about political power AND BUYING VOTES.
So are OPEN BORDERS!

Detroit police chief James Craig says more citizens should be armed

Detroit's police chief has a solution to help drive down crime in one of the nation's most dangerous cities: arm more citizens.James Craig made the comments at a police press conference Thursday, when he announced a 7 percent drop in violent crime in 2013, The Detroit News reported. Although urban police typically favor gun control, Craig said his views evolved after working in Los Angeles and Maine, where concealed weapons permits are more easily obtained.

New York's Fact-Free Gun Ruling
Most of New York's new gun-control laws have been upheld — on a totally dubious basis.

New York's new gun-control law, the so-called SAFE Act, largely survived its first federal-court challenge on this past Tuesday. The more than 1,140 New Yorkers it's made felons will remain so. But even the testimony of the state's own expert witness failed to show that the law will cut crime.

The judge in this case is William M. Skretny, chief federal judge for the Western District of New York. His decision upheld the state's gun-registration requirements and ban on assault weapons, but he rejected the seven-round limit for magazines, deeming it arbitrary.

The decision relied heavily on testimony by George Mason University criminology professor Chris Koper, who argued "that the criminal use of assault weapons declined after the federal assault-weapons ban was enacted in 1994, independently of trends in gun crime." Judge Skretny wrote in his opinion: "Because New York's regulations are tighter than those in the federal ban, [Koper] believes, quite reasonably, that the affect [sic] will be greater."

But Koper's two studies on the 1994 federal assault-weapons ban don't support his claims. The first study, with Jeff Roth for the National Institute of Justice, found that "the evidence is not strong enough for us to conclude that there was any meaningful effect [of the weapons ban]."

Seven years later, in 2004, Koper and Roth conducted a follow-up study with fellow criminologist Dan Woods, covering a much longer period after the law. They concluded, "we cannot clearly credit the ban with any of the nation's recent drop in gun violence. And, indeed, there has been no discernible reduction in the lethality and injuriousness of gun violence."

To make the court ruling even stranger, given Koper's argument about what effect the ban will have on New York, no evidence was considered on the effects of state law, even though this has been studied by other researchers such as myself. At that level, again, absolutely no benefit is found on crime.

More embarrassing is the judge's reliance on Koper's claim that "a [large capacity-magazine] is arguably the most functionally important feature of most [assault weapons], many of which have magazines holding 30 or more rounds." Any gun that can hold a magazine can hold one of any size. That is true for handguns as well as rifles, implying that virtually all semi-automatic guns are so-called "assault weapons." But a magazine, which is basically a metal box with a spring, is trivially easy to make and virtually impossible to stop criminals from obtaining. Even if someone didn't have access to some simple machine tools, the proliferation of 3D printers make it so anyone can produce them.

Judge Skretny also failed to examine other aspects of the law. For example, he concludes that "SAFE Act's requirement that ammunition sales be conducted 'face-to-face' does not unduly burden interstate commerce." But in New York, going through a federally licensed firearms dealer to get a background check on ammunition purchases reportedly adds $85 in costs to the average purchase; there are also the time costs involved in having to drive to a physical store. And these costs fall hardest on the very people who most need guns for protection — poor blacks who live in high-crime urban areas.

Or take his claim of public-safety benefits from registering guns. Not a single study is cited showing that registration reduces crime. Whether in Canada, Hawaii, Chicago, or Washington, D.C., police seem unable to point to a single violent crime where registration has helped their investigation. During a recent deposition, D.C. police chief Cathy Lanier said she couldn't "recall any specific instance where registration records were used to determine who committed a crime."

The judge's reliance on the left-wing Mother Jones magazine to buttress claims about mass shootings is almost comical. Even liberal academic James Alan Fox described the data collected by the magazine as relying on "questionable motive-based selectivity" and criteria that are "not necessarily applied consistently."

Hopefully an appeals court will be more careful with the evidence. Courts should prevent people from exercising "fundamental rights" only when there is clear evidence that restrictions actually benefit public safety.

THE ULTIMATUM

For THE ULTIMATUM you will have to see later... below!

YOU MAY BE WHOM YOU THINK YOU ARE, BUT PERHAPS NOT.

Ever watch The Twilight Zone? The stories are all written to a formula. You are presented with a set of circumstances which seem completely natural, comprehensible and familiar. Only something is wrong. There's an element that doesn't make sense, doesn't fit. This builds up to a climax until an epiphanic moment when you're mentally zoomed out to see a wider truth you never expected. Suddenly you realize all of your prior assumptions were wrong, what was really happening was entirely different only you had no way of knowing it. Only then does it all become perfectly clear and it's the opposite of what you'd thought before. The truth comes as a complete surprise.
When you step out of that moment and back into reality, your epiphany will  cause you to retreat from your previously-held belief system and realize you've been had.

- Mark Fisher @ PS Tracks

It's true. You've been had. Everything you believed is simply not true.
All you've experienced are SNIPPETS of factoids, not a truth that can only be revealed in a context.
The context of just about everything you know is missing.
And factoids are not truths.
They are merely factoids that just appear to be truths.
You are...and have lived for your entire life...in The Twilight Zone.

A READER, A PHD, OBSERVED: "The readers of SNIPPETS' newsletters will gain a fundamental knowledge greater than what he learned in graduate school and possibly through his whole life."

FAR MORE CRUCIAL THAN WHAT WE KNOW OR DO NOT KNOW IS WHAT WE DO NOT WANT TO KNOW. – Eric Hoffer

AVOIDING KNOWLEDGE IS ALIKE TRYING TO AVOID GRAVITY,
EXCEPT WITH THE FIRST ONE CAN DELIBERATELY MAKE ONESELF EXEMPT!
IT IS aka WILLFUL IGNORANCE. INTELLECTUAL LAZINESS. OR PELOSISM:
"You will find out what's in the law when we pass it."

JOHN MAULDIN writes:

For all of measurable human history up until the year 1750, nothing happened that mattered.

This isn't to say history was stagnant, or that life was only grim and blank, but the well-being of average people did not perceptibly improve. All of the wars, literature, love affairs, and religious schisms, the schemes for empire-making and ocean-crossing and simple profit and freedom, the entire human theater of ambition and deceit and redemption took place on a scale too small to register, too minor to much improve the lot of ordinary human beings. In England before the middle of the eighteenth century, where industrialization first began, the pace of progress was so slow that it took 350 years for a family to double its standard of living. In Sweden, during a similar 200-year period, there was essentially no improvement at all. By the middle of the eighteenth century, the state of technology and the luxury and quality of life afforded the average individual were little better than they had been two millennia earlier, in ancient Rome.

"Think of things that have not been done before...and if you can't, you haven't tried hard enough."

The Primacy of Human Capital

Thoughts from the Frontline

It is not just that Gordon and others miss the importance of information and entrepreneurial effort in industrial revolutions, missing the forest for the trees. It is that they miss the most important factor of all: capital. But not capital in the sense of money. I am thinking of capital in the more important way that Nobel laureate Gary Becker describes it: as human capital.

It is the investments we have made in ourselves that have been the true source of economic growth. Education, training, information sharing, the transfer of knowledge have all been fundamental in the human experiment. The more open a society becomes, the more it shares its information and knowledge and the fruits of its labors, and the more empowered its people and the more productive its civilization become.

As Isaac Newton said, "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." In Newton's time, there were a handful of giants; today there are thousands. And because of their ubiquity, most go unnoticed. The division of labor, the most significant of Adam Smith's insights, means that there are just so many more small but important realms of human endeavor where giants can roam and have an impact. When was the last time we celebrated the giants of material sciences? Who are the Newtons of the world of ceramics? We may not be able to name them, yet their work has a profound impact on our lives. I daresay that our Killer Robot would not be possible without their seminal work. Or the work of thousands of other innovators.

The End of Growth?

BITE THE BULLET!

DO   YOU  THINK   YOU   CAN   CUT   BACK   ON   YOUR   EXPENSES   AT   THE   SAME   %   RATIO TO  FOLLOW  OBAMA'S  LEAD?

I'm going to bite the bullet too. Will you join me?

President Obama ordered the cabinet to cut $100,000,000.00 ($100 million) from the $3,500,000,000,000.00 ($3.5 trillion) federal budget.

I'm so impressed by this sacrifice that I have decided to do the same thing with my personal budget.  I spend about $2,000 a month on groceries, household expenses, medicine, utilities, etc., but it's time to get out the budget cutting axe, go through my expenses, and cut back.

I'm going to cut my spending at exactly the same ratio (1/35,000) of my total budget. After doing the math, it looks like instead of spending $2,000 a month, I'm going to have to cut that number by six cents.  Yes, I'm going to have to get by with $1,999.94, but that's what sacrifice is all about.

I'll just have to do without some things, that are, frankly, luxuries – six cents worth.

Did this President actually think no one would do the math? Please send this to everyone on your list so people understand how idiotic a $100 million cut is in a $3.5 trillion budget

Stop the bailout — now

By Charles Krauthammer

First order of business for the returning Congress: The No Bailout for Insurance Companies Act of 2014.

Make it one line long: "Sections 1341 and 1342 of the Affordable Care Act are hereby repealed."

End of bill. End of bailout. End of story.

Why do we need it? On Dec. 18, the chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers was asked what was the administration's Plan B if, because of adverse selection (enrolling too few young and healthies), the insurance companies face financial difficulty.

Jason Furman wouldn't bite. "There's a Plan A," he replied. Enroll the young.

But of course there's a Plan B. It's a government bailout.

Administration officials can't say it for political reasons. And they don't have to say it because it's already in the Affordable Care Act, buried deep.

First, Section 1341, the "reinsurance" fund collected from insurers and self-insuring employers at a nifty $63 a head. (Who do you think the cost is passed on to?) This yields about $20 billion over three years to cover losses.

Then there is Section 1342, the "risk corridor" provision that mandates a major taxpayer payout covering up to 80 percent of insurance-company losses.

Never heard of these? That's the beauty of passing a bill of such monstrous length. You can insert a chicken soup recipe and no one will notice.

Nancy Pelosi was right: We'd have to pass the damn thing to know what's in it. Well, now we have and now we know.

The whole scheme was risky enough to begin with — getting enough enrollees and making sure 40 percent were young and healthy. Obamacare is already far behind its own enrollment estimates. But things have gotten worse. The administration has been changing the rules repeatedly — with every scrimmage-line audible raising costs and diminishing revenue.

First, it postponed the employer mandate. Then it exempted from the individual mandate people whose policies were canceled (by Obamacare). And for those who did join the exchanges, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is "strongly encouraging" insurers — during the "transition" — to cover doctors and drugs not included in their clients' plans.

The insurers were stunned. Told to give free coverage. Deprived of their best customers. Forced to offer stripped-down "catastrophic" plans to people age 30 and over (contrary to the law). These dictates, complained an insurance industry spokesman, could "destabilize" the insurance market.

Translation: How are we going to survive this? Shrinking revenues and rising costs could bring on the "death spiral" — an unbalanced patient pool forcing huge premium increases (to restore revenue) that would further unbalance the patient pool as the young and healthy drop out.

End result? Insolvency — before which the insurance companies will pull out of Obamacare.

Solution? A huge government bailout. It's Obamacare's escape hatch. And — surprise, surprise — it's already baked into the law.

Which is why the GOP needs to act. Obamacare is a Rube Goldberg machine with hundreds of moving parts. Without viable insurance companies doing the work, it falls apart. No bailout, no Obamacare.

Such a bill would be overwhelmingly popular because Americans hate fat-cat bailouts of any kind. Why should their tax dollars be spent not only saving giant insurers but also rescuing this unworkable, unbalanced, unstable, unpopular money-pit of a health-care scheme?

The GOP House should pass it and send it to Harry Reid's Democratic Senate. Democrats know it could be fatal for Obamacare. The only alternative would be single-payer. And try selling that to the country after the spectacularly incompetent launch of — and subsequent widespread disaffection with — mere semi-nationalization.

Do you really think vulnerable Democrats up for reelection will vote for a bailout? And who better to slay Obamacare than a Democratic Senate — liberalism repudiating its most important creation of the last 50 years.

Want to be even bolder? Attach the anti-bailout bill to the debt ceiling. That and nothing else. Dare the president to stand up and say: "I'm willing to let the country default in order to preserve a massive bailout for insurance companies."

In the past, Republicans made unrealistic and unpopular debt-ceiling demands — and lost badly. They learned their lesson. Last year, Republicans presented one simple unassailable debt-ceiling demand — that the Senate pass its first budget in four years.

Who could argue with that? The Senate capitulated within two days.

Who can argue with no bailout? Let the Senate Democrats decide: Support the bailout and lose the Senate. Or oppose the bailout and bury Obamacare.

Happy New Year.

Thanks to the outstanding support of people like you, we have surpassed our goal of raising $100,000 to help Save Africa's Parrots! This means we have even more resources to save these endangered birds - at a time that they need it the most.

Why do they need our help? Many parrot populations are threatened with extinction. In Africa the problem is particularly urgent - parrots there face threats like harvesting for the wildlife trade, habitat loss, disease and persecution as crop pests.

Listen to the interview with Dr. Rowan Martin. But there is hope. The World Parrot Trust has initiated the Africa Conservation Programme (WPT-ACP) to protect African parrot populations. Thanks to the outstanding efforts of WPT-ACP field partners and staff, we are expanding our efforts in 2014 to save these parrots.

We can continue our efforts because of gifts from concerned people like you. The work never ends, and because of that we'll need continued support to help these parrots.

Plus, our generous sponsors have agreed to continue matching all donations made by January 31, so if you haven't yet donated, please consider helping to Save Africa's Parrots today.

Thank you for being a hero to Africa's Parrots!Save Africa's Parrots! Double your gift when you Donate Today!

Best wishes for the New Year,

Steve Milpacher

THE ULTIMATUM

January 3, 2014 ~TPATH~ The New Year is normally a time for renewals and looking enthusiastically towards the newness of our life's calendar as we turn the page on THAT old year ending (you can pause here for an—EW*) but, with a fresh start and rejuvenation we look toward the upcoming events and goals we have set for our future in this new year.  And, with our typically American optimistic can-do-outlook, we take this time to analyze our lives, to stop and consider where we are today and what changes we would like to make for 2014.

(* EW - Internet slang for Exclamation of Disgust!)

So, in order to set aside a little time-to-analyze this past, absolutely horrible year (thanks to you-know-usurper-who) and look with a more positive attitude towards 2014, I had promised myself that I would try to shut-it-down and give it my very best effort to clear my head and enjoy the holidays, all the way from Tuesday, Christmas Eve right through, the day we used to call—'the morning after the night before' - or that back to reality day, of Thursday, January 2, 2014. And, I was proud of myself for getting as far as Friday, morning December 27th.

It was the still of the morning, before anyone else awoke, I grabbed a cup a' joe and saw the new book I'd gotten for Christmas. But, sitting on top of my new book was that ever-handy-iPad, and as if in auto-mode, I picked it up, opened and clicked on the icon for the DRUDGE REPORT. And, there in the top left corner was the 'must-read-link', "Wall Street adviser recommends guns, ammo for protection in collapse…" My initial thought was to tap that little top-off-button and rescue myself with my new book, while thinking how much I truly enjoyed my world of Christmas, surrounded in the love and joy of family and friends, as opposed to the repulsive and insufferable reality of Obama's malevolent world of "recommended guns, ammo for protection in collapse." Sadly, I gave into my curiosity and clicked on that blankity-blank link.

Please realize that the headline writer did not mention the words "in case of", as in "Break Glass 'in case of' Fire" or if by chance there might be a possibility of, no the writer went right for the 'in' word, and I'm guessing most of us no longer need old Slick Willie to define this 2-lettered word, which obviously means: 'inside a…' 'within a…' or 'during a…' Ammo for protection, in-deed!

As I scanned through the article all I could think of was—Really? - this Wall Street financial advisor is just now telling his client to make a list that included guns and ammo, as my cynical self began to think that his brother-in-law must just have purchased a Bug-Out-Bag franchise and he's just gaming the system as any good inside trader would. I'm not going back to check the article, but do think there was an Amazon link to the aforementioned bag of things-you'll-need-in-case-of-collapse.

By the way, here is a link with a complete list of real-stuff recommended
by WE PLAN TO ENDURE,
just in case you do.

And, although connecting with those who have plans in place for enduring in collapse are all highly recommended, at that moment in time, I was the guy reaching for the new book while shutting-it-down, remember. But, as any good Canada Free Press loyalist would do, I then clicked on that icon and came uponDoug Hagmann's must-read final report from Rosebud, which made me, not fearful, but sad, that we as a country had potentially come to this moment in the proud history of this once great nation. And, although I will offer my additional thoughts below, it is with a Hat Tip to Mr. Hagmann that I repost: "...ask yourself why there was such an all out effort to marginalize anyone talking about Obama's eligibility in 2008.
Even so-called conservative pundits fell for the lie that such questions were nothing more than a diversion. They were following a specific drumbeat."

And then Doug closes with what I have long believed to be the truth, "He is the product of decades of planning, made for this very time in history. He was selected to oversee the events I just disclosed. Who has that ability? He is a product of our own intelligence agencies working with globalists. He should be exhibit 'A' to illustrate the need to enforce the Logan Act. Need I say more?"

Many writers, as you know, have quietly attempted to discuss the similarity of these two men over the past four or five years, and I would be remiss not to give an Honorable Mention here, to another exceptionally well written CFP thesis presented by JD Longstreet - with his own vivid comparison, "...if you look at the faces in one of Hitler's crowds and compare them to the faces in Obama's crowd, you will see the same worship of their speaker…but look closely, do you see it? Do you see the vacant…look reflected in those eyes? Trust it. It is telling you, Something is dreadfully wrong." And, although I don't fully concur, he goes on to say, "Be afraid. Be very afraid. No mere mortal should have that kind of power over his fellow human beings. It is too easily misused. It is raw power—and it is corruptible."

And, here is where I do not fully agree with Mr. Longstreet: No matter how far we have transformed over the past five plus years, we are still not some 3rd world banana republic - yet. In my heart, I truly believe that the United States of America is an exceptional nation and was, and will always be a gift from Almighty God, as expressed in our Declaration of Independence, "...and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain 'unalienable' rights…" (meaning incapable of being altered of transferred) and it is our duty as her-temporary-caretakers to take care of this extraordinary gift, to defend, protect and cherish it, to Be Not Afraid…for I go before you always…, against all enemies foreign or domestic, and that no man or army of men will ever take that away from us, not on our watch, they won't! NO ONE! So help me God.

So, my first New Years 'Revolution' is: I will officially stop asking God to grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, and as of the first day in this new year - I will start changing the things I can no longer accept. I haven't for some time, but as with all revolutions I meant to say - resolutions, especially those we plan to keep, I am putting mine here in writing for you: I no longer accept Barack Hussein Obama as the President of the United States and will offer my dogged determination to do everything 'legally and humanly possible' to be a party to that change. PERIOD!

If you don't feel it yet, you will soon, because time is now of the essence. But, I do not want to waste valuable time by providing another list detailing all his treasonous activities to make sure you understand—why! Although, listing them could easily start and end with one word - BENGHAZI, but my goal here is to suggest what I believe might well be in our future for 2014. Use any clich√© you like for time's-up, but our political leaders have filled their Obamaballoon with as much hot-air as the laws of physics will allow, and ready or not, the damn thing is going to burst-wide-open—fairly soon.

I believe that with Obama I have lost all perspective on what is possible and what is not and feel that many of you may have been considering similar thoughts and/or feelings over the past year or so, the only difference is that CFP gives me this opportunity to put my thoughts down on paper, so that you firstly—will know you are not alone, and secondly - so that you will find comfort in the fact that you are not going crazy—this is REALLY happening to our country, and it is happening now.

Many of us have recently read the once-again relevant words of Cicero, saying, "A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within…the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers…heard in the very halls of government itself…He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown…to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is [far] less to fear."

"Barack Obama has rotted the soul of our nation,
and our reality is now right here in front of us.
I no longer accept him."

It is by no coincidence that we see the headlines: The DNC Will Defend Obama from Impeachment Possibility, or how on December 21st a number of Democratic lawmakers proposed a bill (HR 3741) that would eliminate the death penalty for treason. So, do you think they also know their Obamaballoon is now at its 'bursting point? With regard to the DNC defending his impeachment, it would unlikely pass the House and not a chance in the Senate. But, HR 3741 gets us closer to our goal; personally, death is too final a conclusion for him, but better to give him a long-lifetime-of-good-obamacare-health in an 8x8 in solitary confinement.

My belief is many of us are reaching for proposals of what should or might well happen in 2014. Here are my unsolicited predictions and/or what I believe to be the short list of possible scenarios that may occur in the first six months of 2014, if not sooner; which are again being presented solely as the opinions, or educated guesses, of this author and are hereby open for your review and comments.

There have been too many valid indicators that a false flag or a series of staged events will occur fairly soon, proving that Doug Hagmann's Rosebud was right; but, for one major issue that they overlooked or would be impossible to have planned for. And, that is the American spirit of survival along with the literally millions of trained military and/or police officers, active and retired, ready to defend the US Constitution, and oh yes, our 2nd Amendment with over 300 million privately owned guns.

As Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods showed us in Benghazi, it doesn't take too many of us to refuse a Stand-Down order to turn their best laid plans up-side-down.

Number One: Be Not Afraid.
Jim Guirard at American Thinker laid out a well designed plan for a Conviction Without Eviction through a House-led Vote of NO CONFIDENCE. My main concern with this plan is that Speaker Boehner would never agree to bring it to a vote, evidenced by the fact that he would not even assign an Independent Counsel to investigate the treasonous acts related to Benghazi.

There is a secret agreement, already in place, between the usurper and Congress whereby he vacates the office as POTUS in turn for not being prosecuted. More on this later.
This one might be a little far fetched, but consider the group of international bankers and globalists who have supported Obama up until now, they too might be considering 'other plans' before he takes them down with him.

There are now more than two-hundred senior military officers who knew of the possibility that they would soon be released,
FIRED,
but refused to believe it until—it happened! And, now that it has happened, are we to believe that all of these veteran military leaders have been coerced into holding back in fear or for the sake of their pensions, and have no plan?

My prayer for 2014 is that Barack Hussein Obama is arrested and removed from office and I believe that the survival of our Constitutional Republic depends upon it.

And, so I repeat for clarity: "If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, so my children (and grandchildren) may have peace."
—Thomas Pain. Laus Deo.

Meet Osama bin Laden's Lawyer...and an Anthony Weiner Romance Novel: Is your heart throbbing too? Oliver Stone's new film and return from the dead

In Chapter Six "What Sort of Despotism Democratic Nations Have to Fear" of his 1835 book "Democracy in America," Alexis de Tocqueville warned us of the soft tyranny of excessive and intrusive government:

"After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd."

On the Need for a Political Insurgency

Any country ruled by a small group without broad, popular participation by its citizens provides a political basis for an insurgency. It is an axiom of unconventional warfare that insurgents succeed through chaos and disorder appearing anywhere. The regime fails unless it maintains a degree of order everywhere.

Army Field Manual 3-24 defines an insurgency as an organized, protracted politico-military struggle designed to weaken an occupying power. In our case the occupying power is the political ruling class which has perverted the Constitution, flouted the rule of law and undermined representative government.

Political chaos will inevitably increase as the extent of Obama's lies, fraud and failed policies become evident. Political insurgents can exploit the situation nationwide by identifying local targets of opportunity to disrupt, weaken and defeat the undemocratic activities of the two political parties and the mainstream media. The strategic end state of such a political insurgency is the restoration of the Constitution, the rule of law and genuine representative government.

We are sleeping on a volcano... A wind of revolution blows, the storm is on the horizon. - Alexis de Tocqueville

Gun poll: 7 in 10 feel safer in an armed neighborhood

An overwhelming seven in 10 Americans say they would feel safer living in a neighborhood where individuals could own a gun for self defense, the latest indication that support for comprehensive gun control is fading. Rasmussen Reports found that 68 percent of voters polled would feel safer in an armed neighborhood. Just 23 percent said they'd feel safer in "a neighborhood where nobody was allowed to own a gun."

IT DIDN'T TAKE A SEAL TEAM

Osama bin Laden's lawyer didn't live in a cave in Afghanistan. Like so many terrorist lawyers, he was a New Yorker. His law office, which has seen more terrorists and their files pass through it than an Afghan cave, sits above a Muslim 99 cent store that offers discounted napkins, sandals and toasters, and is a four-minute drive away from the World Trade Center.

"If I don't support the politics of political clients, I don't take the case," he once said. A few weeks after September 11, he said, "If Osama bin Laden arrived in the United States today and asked me to represent him, sure I'd represent him."

Osama bin Laden never did arrive in the United States, though perhaps one day pieces of him will wash up on a California beach, and his wannabe lawyer had to settle for representing his son-in-law, who, after September 11, had appeared in a video threatening that "the storm of planes will not stop."

BDS GANDER

Eighty years ago, the Nazis dispatched thousands of SA thugs to enforce their boycott of Jewish businesses. Stars of David were painted on windows. Leaflets listing the crimes of the Jews were handed out. Cameras were set up outside stores to photograph anyone violating the Nazi BDS campaign.

Goebbels, Hitler's propaganda minister, called the boycott a "great moral victory." Modern BDS activists echo his rhetoric calling their attacks on Jewish businesses and academics a "moral victory".

The Muslim boycott of Jewish businesses in Israel began in the twenties and predated the Nazi boycott. It may have even helped to inspire it. This was followed by the Arab League boycott of Israel after the Holocaust. The modern BDS boycott is the direct successor of a Saudi policy under a progressive flag.

YES VIRGINIA

Yes Virginia, there is an Anthony Weiner romance novel. How does this timeless romance for the ages begin?

"Weiner was different. He wasn't afraid to charge in, make enemies and throw dirt across the aisle. I liked that in a man; and to be honest, I liked Weiner too with his delicate face and Mediterranean eyes. The more I read, the more my blue heart throbbed for him.

PEACE OF THE UNJUST

Christians and Jews out-compete Muslims economically in every country. That's why the Muslim Brotherhood with its network of businesses wants to drive Coptic Christians out of Egypt.

The non-oil Muslim countries who are closest to Israel are Malaysia and Lebanon, 32 and 33 places behind Israel. Both countries also have sizable non-Muslim populations. Muslims make up only 50 percent of Lebanon and only 60 percent of Malaysia. No Muslim country without oil has a better GDP Per Capita than a Muslim country with sizable Christian or Buddhist minorities.

Now if you think rationally, this is a reason for Muslims to keep non-Muslims around. But if you think tribally, the only way that Muslims can get ahead is by getting rid of the non-Muslims.

By 2007 George W. Bush had pacified Iraq and vanquished al Q'aeda. There was no significant al Q'aeda activity recorded for the year. By 2012 Barack Obama had unpacified Iraq by flushing down the toilet the investment the United States had spent (hundreds of billions) and today Iraq has the same level of violence it had in 2005 - it is in the midst of A CIVIL WAR with al Q'aeda more active then ever! Had the United States stayed in Iraq, today we'd certainly have better leverage in dealing with BOTH Iran and Syria...the last an Iranian client. But that's Barack for you - for his kind, every decision is a bad decision for American interests. PEACE! IF YOU CAN STAND IT.

THE I WORD

What it's really doing is clumsily duplicating the Predator setup, without actually giving them Predators, which is smart because anything you give Iraq, you also give Iran.

But clumsily outsourcing Predator strikes means that intelligence moves much more slowly and is more vulnerable to leaks on the other side. It also means that Al Qaeda and Iran both get a preview of our intelligence resources.

So it's a bad solution that's meant to keep Obama at arm's length from the I word.

A very fine street car conductor...indeed

UNION POLITICS

This story is about a labor leader I once met whom I did understood. This fellow was named Herr Eichhorn and he'd become dictator in a town in Germany named Dusseldorf.

There'd been an uprising and the Bolsheviks captured the town. Eichhorn had been a street car conductor and now he found himself in the Burgomeister's Palace as a dictator of whatever province Dusseldorf was in. He was running the works.

I met him at the palace to talk. He was a very fine street car conductor who sat there beaming and happy at his desk. I asked him what he'd done since he'd become a dictator.

"Well the first thing O did is two days after I was dictator, I doubled the salaries of all the street car employees," he said.

"That's fine, what else did you do?"

"I doubled the salaries of all the street cleaners. In fact I've doubled all the salaries in Dusseldorf."

"Where do you get all the money to pay all these double wages?" I asked.

He said, "I get it out of the treasury of Dusseldorf."

So I thought for a moment and I asked him, "What'll happen when you run out of the money in the Treasury of Dusseldorf? How are you going to pay these double wages?"

He grinned. "I'm not worried about that, by the time that happens I won't be dictator."
