And sometimes we devolve!

I heard someone bemoaning the fact that so many children are obese these days and commented that it is no wonder when the only thing that gets exercise is fingers! [u know ... video games, wii, etc.] ?

However there is another factor.

Civilization like many living things comes to a state called maturity and then naturally devolves.

Evidence for Devolving....

1. It used to be that parents had no worries about their children being outside playing until suppertime, no worries about them walking to school. Unfortunately it seems that some perverts have devolved more quickly than others and we never know when that they may be degrading into animal behaviour. So kids are warned to stay indoors which of course leads to much less exercise than when I was a child.

2. Some groups or civilizations use to have respect for the opinions of others even if they disagreed. Unfortunately many now want to pass laws to prevent certain individuals or groups from expressing their harmless opinions. Devolving of society in evidence.

3. Some groups which used to treat people who disagreed with them, with respect, have unfortunately reverted to the childish behaviour of mocking or in extreme cases killing those same individuals as if they were stupid instead of simply being in disagreement.
Isn't it sad we cannot disagree with some without being mocked? Devolution.

Perhaps like a mature tree our civilization is rotting on the inside forming a hollow core because it is past maturity. All it takes sometimes is a lightning strike and the whole tree falls.

It is conjectured that all formerly great societies became corrupt and fell as a natural consequence. The Roman Empire became corrupt and lazy and were overrun by the barbarians. Devolution of civilization.

So what stage are we at? Is it reversible?Charles Pedleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11199785903063045541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7379813337840886368.post-35285702487302735412010-03-03T11:28:16.415-05:002010-03-03T11:28:16.415-05:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Brian Crockettnoreply@blogger.com
